Brazilian Samba Dance Styling and Performance Workshop

Jazz Baptiste, dance producer, choreographer and master dance instructor will be teaching a special 'Styling and Performance' workshop for all levels from beginners with no experience to the professional samba dancer.
Students will gain the following from this workshop:
- basic samba dance footwork and hip mechanics
- styling techniques for arms
- body movements
- body isolations
- fun choreography for performance
- great workout!For all those who are participating in the Brazilian Day San Diego parade, this workshop will be a great way to prepare!
Cost: $25 in advance, $30 day of workshop

This will be our NINTH monthly meeting at the club. Cafe Sevilla, a popular venue here in San Diego for salsa, opened its doors to our group on the first Wednesday of each month.
This month's event will be featuring a DRESS IN RED theme! {IF YOU HAVE A RED SHIRT, SKIRT, DRESS, SHOES, WHATEVER WEAR IT FOR THIS EVENT!!!} Come at 8pm to meet new members and share drinks in our VIP area. We will meet DOWNSTAIRS at 8pm and afterwards anyone who wants to take the lesson can at 8:30 or mingle in the special VIP area for our group downstairs (there will be Meetup signs to show you where to go).
The VIP area for our group will be open at 8:00pm. Look for us at the main entrance area, right hand side in the VIP Section. I'll have a Meetup.com sign set up in the area. Come early to meet members before everyone goes out to dance!
A Live band will be performing LIVE salsa beginning at 10pm.
Any members coming between 8pm and 9pm will be able to get a discount ($5 cover) if they mention that they are members of "The San Diego Salsa and Latin Dancing Meetup Group."

Join us for Salsa & Rueda de Casino classes at Cheek to Cheek Dance Studios, Mondays at 7:30pm for beginners and 8:30pm for Intermediates. If you've never danced Cuban salsa or rueda before, Welcome! Our classes are a blast, with tons of energy, a great vibe and most importantly, lots of fun. We will break everything down very easily, and you'll be dancing within minutes. No need to bring a partner-we'll be switching partners constantly. So don't miss it! Classes are $12 per hour, or $20 for two back to back sessions. We also offer a $40 package for 4 classes. Whether you have been dancing Samba for years or are a beginner. This class will teach you how to dance socially or for performance.
This class will cover the basic techniques of Brazilian Samba and some choreography for social Brazilian Samba dancing.
For those enthusiastic and interested in more advanced Samba, performance class can be created based on interest.
