In this bachata festival we present AVANCE; originates and consists of the hottest and newest talents the San Francisco Bay Area has come to know. Four electrifying bilingual singers, a sizzling horn section and one of the best rhythm sections on the West Coast. You put this all together and you get a new and unique sound that crosses the language barrier: Spanish and English. Leading the group is Carlos Santana percussionist/musical director, Karl Perazzo and Co-Founder/Vocalist Armando Cordoba. From Central America, Luis Morales, Jeff Cordoba, Jimmy Flores and Armando Cordoba, bring to the table each, his own style of vocals; enriching each song with it’s own personality. Rich vocals and an exhilarating dance show, these singers leave all audiences wanting more! The festival takes place from July 16-19th, 2010 at the Parc 55 Hotel and also has days of pre-parties and events beforehand. We have a fantastic lineup of salsa dance classes and live music that's going to make a fantastic weekend of events at the Parc 55, suitable for both beginning and advanced salsa dancers! San Francisco has always had an incredibly talented mix of salsa instructors and musicians, it's sure to be a scorching hot summer in San Francisco,

Brazilian Samba Dance Styling and Performance Workshop

Jazz Baptiste, dance producer, choreographer and master dance instructor will be teaching a special 'Styling and Performance' workshop for all levels from beginners with no experience to the professional samba dancer.
Students will gain the following from this workshop:
- basic samba dance footwork and hip mechanics
- styling techniques for arms
- body movements
- body isolations
- fun choreography for performance
- great workout!For all those who are participating in the Brazilian Day San Diego parade, this workshop will be a great way to prepare!
Cost: $25 in advance, $30 day of workshop

Brazilian Samba Dance Class

Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Whether you have been dancing Samba for years or are a beginner. This class will teach you how to dance socially or for performance.
This class will cover the basic techniques of Brazilian Samba and some choreography for social Brazilian Samba dancing.
For those enthusiastic and interested in more advanced Samba, performance class can be created based on interest.

A portion of the proceeds (30%) will be donated to Dancing After School (DAS), a non-profit organization,
teaching at risk kids social dancing after school hours for FREE. Currently, DAS provides dance classes to 24 schools, 1300 children and employs 47 dance instructors. There are currently 10 schools on the waiting list.
