Montuno Swing is a salsa band that produces a big crisp sound. The band is a collection of outstanding Bay Area musicians with a laundry list of credentials to back them up. Christian Tumalan (band director & pianist), David Pinto (bass), Omar Ledezma Jr. (timbales & vocals), Oscar Soltero (bongo & vocals), Edgardo Cambon (congas & vocals), Adam Theis (trombone), and Luke Kirley (trombone) hail from different areas of Latin America and the USA resulting in a sound influenced by an eclectic mix of backgrounds. This is a collective of well-seasoned artists bringing together juicy trombone tunes, long-tickling piano solos, and clever percussion beats sending you spinning across the floor. Montuno Swing is not only a music lover's gem, but also a dancer's band. They give salseros lots to grab onto for movement, lots to groove to. So,shake off that attitude pilgrim, the holidays are just getting started. Go dancing!

I'm hosting a house warming party at my place on April 17 in Oceanside. There will be salsa music and a large room with wooden floor for dancing and a large backyard for BBQ and mingling.
Bring meat/vegetable to grill, beverages and alcohol (enough for yourself and some to share). BBQ will start at 4 pm and dancing will go until midnight.

San Diego Salsa Dance Event: December 2009 Salsa Meet up at Cafe Sevilla
"1ST WEDNESDAYS OF THE MONTH w/ MEETUP.com at Cafe Sevilla - December Edition!"
This will be our Twelfth monthly and final meeting at the club for 2009. Cafe Sevilla, a popular venue here in San Diego for salsa, opened its doors to our group on the first Wednesday of each month.
This month's event we are asking members to donate toys for the Toys for Tots organization here in San Diego. Please bring any toys for kids ages 9 to 14 years old (that is where the need is currently) and help out some folks in this holiday season. As always, come at 8pm to meet new members and share drinks in our VIP area. We will meet DOWNSTAIRS at 8pm and afterwards anyone who wants to take the lesson can at 8:30 or mingle in the special VIP area for our group downstairs (there will be Meetup signs to show you where to go).
The VIP area for our group will be open at 8:00pm. Look for us at the main entrance area, right hand side in the VIP Section. I'll have a Meetup.com sign set up in the area. Come early to meet members before everyone goes out to dance!
A Live band, Charlie Chavez, will be performing LIVE salsa beginning at 10pm.
This event is FREE with NO COVER!
