Brazilian Day San Diego is the largest fundraiser for Capoeira Institute, Inc., a non-profit organization that offers outreach programs for underprivileged children. Their main focus is to provide classes,workshops and awareness programs to schools regarding Brazilian Culture and Art forms, such as Capoeira, Samba, Afro-Brazilian Dance and Percussion.

EVENT
This year’s Brazilian Day San Diego will once again take place in Pacific Beach (between Bayard Street and Everts Street) and is schedule for September 13th from 12p.m. to 6p.m.

PARADE
This cultural extravaganza is highlighted by a main-street parade that celebrates the best of Brazil with contagious percussion, moving rhythms, and exotic costumes. Various dance groups wearing authentic Brazilian Carnaval attire are accompanied by lively percussion bands and colorful floats.

FLAVORS OF BRAZIL
Enjoy the best of traditional cuisine in the Brazilian Day San Diego – Food Court. Last year’s vendors served up an array of culinary favorites that included Brazilian barbecue, feijoada, pastel and more.

FLAIR OF BRAZIL
A carefully select group of vendors are chosen to display the best in Brazilian art, crafts, jewelry, souvenirs and clothing

FUN AREA
To ensure that the event will be a blast for the entire family, we will have a fun children’s area with carnival rides, inflatable jumps, ballon artists, face painters and other entertainers.

PERFORMANCES
Music ensembles will perform a variety of Brazilian favorites including the Bossa Nova, Samba, Forro, Axe & Batucada throughtout the day. Demosntrations of the Brazilian art forms such as Capoeira, Samba-Reggae, Frevo, Maracatu are sure to keep the audience moving to the beat.
